When I was in college, in the late 1960s, the atmosphere was either exhilarating or chaotic, depending on your perspective. My perspective found it to be a little bit of both, because as a young activist I relished the level of political and social engagement among students, but as a young Latino I was always aware of the deep scars of racial segregation and social exclusion with which America continues to struggle.

Q: How can you get 12 units for the price of 8?
 A: Special Fee Incentive for Summer Session 2008: UC students pay for only the first 8 units of course fees.
For example, a current UCI Undergraduate Student enrolling on time in 12 units of coursework will pay a $100 Campus Fee, $1,264 in Course Fees ($158/unit x 8 units), plus any applicable Course Materials Fees.

Volunteers Needed for UCI Commencement Ceremonies
The UCI Commencement Office invites you to participate in the forty-third UC Irvine commencement ceremonies to be held Friday, June 13; Saturday, June 14; and Sunday, June 15. The ceremony calendar is on the UCI commencement website.
Sign up online to be a volunteer at one or more of the ceremonies! You can be a ticket taker, host or help to line up bachelor candidates. See your UCI friends, former co-workers and Class of 2008 graduates during the commencement weekend.
